NaNo wrap up

Happy December 1st!!!!  Can you believe the year is almost over?  Where did the time go???

The beginning of December brings with it the end of NaNo.  This year, my goal was 30,000 words, as I knew there was no way I was going to reach 50,000.  Life has become much busier since last year, and I needed to be realistic.

Well, I did not meet my goal, but I am OK with that.  If I hadn't been sick last week and most of this week, I probably would have reached it, and maybe surpassed it.

I am very happy to report that I had a word total of  20, 994.  I completed a MS (and prepped it for edits) and started a new WIP.

How did your NaNo go?

  1. Great job. I will spot you the six words to meet your goal :)

  2. I hope you're feeling better! Even though you didn't make your goal (although you weren't off by much!), it sounds like you had a productive month and that's the most important thing.

How exciting to complete your MS. That's always empowering for me, but a little sad to say goodbye to the characters (unless you write a sequel). I wrote two books with the same characters and I'm having trouble moving on to anthoer WIP because the other set of characters keep jumping in my head...maybe there's a third book on the horizon. :o)

  3. Hope you have recovered. Nothing wrong with missing goals. The main purpose of goals is to strive for an end, not necessarily to meet the goal. Without goals, many of us will just drift aimlessly.

  5. I'm impressed. November is the WORST month for a big writing challenge. Of all the months I've churned out stories, it's NEVER been in November.

    Happy writing!
